In Austria motorways and expressways are toll roads. The tolls – sticker or GO Box – are paid to the ASFINAG. For the Felbertauern Highway NO STICKER OR GO BOX is required.

All vehicles up to 3,500 kg – cars, motorcycles and light motorhomes – have to pay a toll to use the motorways and expressways. The toll – when you pay you get a windscreen sticker - is paid to the ASFINAG. This general toll has nothing to do with the Felbertauern toll. Depending on the type of vehicle and the period of use (10 days, 2 months, 1 calendar year) various stickers can be purchased. Information on the sticker can be obtained by clicking on www.vignette.at or calling the freephone number 0800 400 12 400.

Apart from the general toll on motorways and expressways in Austria, there are so-called special toll roads as well. On these ASFINAG roads that cross the Alps an extra toll is levied:

  • A9: Bosrucktunnel, Gleinalmtunnel
  • A10: Tauerntunnel, Katschbergtunnel
  • A11: Karawankentunnel
  • S16: Arlberg Straßentunnel
  • A13: Brenner Autobahn

There is a compulsory GO toll for all vehicles over 3,500 kg on Austria's motorways and expressways. This toll is calculated according to distance covered and is paid to the ASFINAG by means of the GO BOX. This toll has nothing to do with the Felbertauern toll. For information on the GO toll visit www.go-maut.at or call the freephone number 0800 400 11 400.

Felbertauern users coming from Germany with vehicles in excess of 3,500 kg have to pay a toll for the distance between the motorway border crossing at Kiefersfelden and the Kufstein Süd exit. In order to be able to use this stretch of motorway you require the GO BOX.

You can avoid having to purchase the GO BOX only if you exit the motorway in Germany and cross the border at Kiefersfelden on the main road. Then take the road to Kufstein. You are now on your planned route to the south.
